Why I Disavow Gay Pride

A short history and the commodifying of Gay Culture

THE NEW GAY ORDER

(Originally written in June 2020 with some minor additions.)

For many years now, June has been established as Gay Pride month, marking the start of Pride parades around the world and all things gay and rainbow-colored. But this year, not so much. In this article I will attempt to explain an interesting parallel with the gay community, the black community and the reinvention of both by the extreme liberal establishment. 

As the country continues to divide and we perceive the Covid theatrics and rioting that is unfolding from distinctly different points of understanding, there is at least one thing that everyone agrees on, that racism exists as does police brutality. I don’t think anyone disputes these two facts, but currently, it’s as if these are the only two things that are being factored into what we see playing out. People with good intentions as well as those with ill, are establishing a falsehood that we exist in a totally black and white world where our actions and thoughts are based on ‘systemic racism’—a phrase repeated constantly to impress on anyone not even paying attention that there is in fact racism, even where it doesn’t exist.  I’ve often asked myself why so many white people who have joined together to speak for the black community are the same ones who determine what racism is and who liberally apply that label to whatever suits them. Are these the same people who cry about inequality, but who have never given their money to black-owned businesses? Are they the ones who have to tell themselves to seek out friendship with a black person so they don’t feel guilty? Is communicating or engaging with a black person so impossible to them that they need to be goaded into it by progressive educators and therapists? Is this the result of suffering from a lifetime of imposed guilt and being brainwashed into thinking that they are bad people? How do cults start? At what age should a white child be made to hold up a sign condemning his own skin color? At what age should a child be forced to choose his gender? How does social engineering and indoctrination work?

I am not black, thus not in the best position to speak for that community, but I am gay and can more than adequately speak from my own experience starting from the onset of AIDS to today.  I have seen first hand how communities are infiltrated by voices and ‘well meaning’ people whose aim is to speak for an entire swath of the population that they’ve never lived among or rightfully know, but as we continue to see in the black community, that doesn’t stop countless people from doing just that. They can say that more voices need to be heard and whatever other hollow statement of virtue that gets them through the day, but I call it bullshit. 

Order Out of Chaos: The Transformation and Commodifying of Gay Culture 

In small pockets, change was brewing. A demand for gay rights had become louder in the 60s, Harvey Milk had been elected to the SF Board of Supervisors in 1977 and by that time the City’s first pride parade was already in it’s seventh year. But outside of big cities where a gay culture had the chance to emerge, the subject was still avoided and from my perspective in a mid-sized California city in the early 80s, it still felt somewhat underground. Yes, there were bars (the closest one to me was 20 miles away), magazines and the stereotypical homo portrayed as a limp-wristed swish on the odd tv show, but that was it.  Essentially, gays were depicted only in the context of existing in dark bars, as hair stylists and as comic relief.

I was about 17 years old when the first cases of AIDS began making the news.  In those early days it was simply called the gay disease or gay plague.  The mysterious and deadly disease unsurprisingly placed a horrible negativity on the gay community that would erase any positive gains made thus far—all this coincided with my own personal acceptance and realizations of being gay.  The timing, as you can imagine, was not too comforting under the cloud of AIDS. Nevertheless, I moved to San Francisco during this tragic and transformative time and experienced the changing culture firsthand. I am not a historian and my words are based on my own observations and experience from within something new that was exploding out of a past that was all but dying before our very eyes.

Like the Coronavirus, AIDS made people paranoid. Gays were treated like pariahs and relegated to the trash heap of society and every gay man was a potential victim of abuse or bullying. Gays became targets and the term ‘gay bashing’ became all too common and it was the Republican party, labeled ‘indifferent’ that took the brunt of blame for AIDS. After countless reported bashings, murders and cases of discrimination, things did take a noticeable turn, but even today, we still don’t have all the answers to questions that swirled around treatments or if cures were hidden from the public in order to politicize the disease and attract voters by exploiting this cause. Perhaps it was the calls to end violence against gays that signaled a need for dramatic change and societal education. A campaign to ‘humanize’ gays was in order and it seemed that it was time for the straight population to be schooled—of course, this education would be provided by liberals and it would be under their watch that greater public awareness would take place and as is the tradition, conservatives were painted as the enemy.

The AIDS Quilt began touring and was a monumental effort that allowed people to transform their impressions of the disease from being an anonymous gay plague to something that personalized it and made it more real in their hearts and minds.  The world was waking up to the needs and presence of gays and I believe it was in no small part due to the activism of the younger incoming generation which I was a part of.  I was not an activist, but I was surrounded by it and it permeated the scene. I was an observer as I am today.  

The 90s saw a dramatic shift from gay culture being in the shadows to taking center stage. The ensuing elevation and acceptance of gay lifestyles played out just as one might expect.  A predetermined order naturally followed the chaos that preceded it.  There was a newfound sense of Pride and overt queerness which was nothing new in gay circles, but was now going mainstream and by this time ‘Gay’ became fully marketable and was promoted by the media.

The New Gay Order

Does a Gay Agenda exist? Most would say no or deny it, but in terms of the commercialization and social engineering of gay issues, I would say yes, it does. When commercial industries and mainstream entertainment define what being gay is, I tend to think that that’s when gay culture was hijacked and became a commodity.

Just as I would refuse to make a cake for Antifa, I would never demand someone make me a cake if they were opposed to gay marriage. I never asked to be lumped in with bisexuals, lesbians, transsexuals and other ‘gender fluid’ individuals. I never asked for there to be stereotypical gays to be represented in every new movie or for young lesbians and gays to have storylines on every new tv show that only exploited their sexuality or their mental health issues.  Did they think I needed help defining myself as they chose to present me? Is this not really about me at all, but about how the new generation of gays will be defined and understood? Are the demands made in the name of gays and for those who deny biological gender, being spoken in a language meant to be memorized, absorbed and repeated by this younger generation?

How was it possible for a new culture to be imposed on an entire population without pushback, unless that new population has been molded into accepting it and guided into a neediness that is satisfied by a new system where outlandish demands are met without question. And while insecurity and anxiety has never been strictly a gay issue, it does appear that the generations after mine suffered a much greater incidence of autism, gender dysphoria and suicide, which I naturally attribute to vaccinations my generation never took combined with social engineering many of us never accepted. 

Is it possible that this new gay culture was being built for a generation of kids who would be born with dysphoric tendencies or who could be easily exploited and used to assist in breaking down the traditional idea of family which is the basis for love, trust and loyalty? Within this new gay culture, children could literally accuse their parents of abuse for ‘misgendering’ them and legal action could be taken against strangers for inadvertently referring to an obviously genetic male as a ‘he’. This new culture that embraced and encouraged inversion was not about activism and had nothing to do with being gay, but everything to do with bullying and entitlement.  They had taken the ‘victim’ label and within the system that enabled it, turned narcissism and mental illness into their idea of good health and normalcy.  

Desmond is NOT Amazing

I don’t know that Drag Kids actually evolved out of the club kid scene or if the depraved system merely used well known relics of the scene, like convicted murderer Michael Alig and RuPaul, to help usher these children into a world that had previously been a domain defined by rampant drug use, promiscuous sex and immorality.  A little boy dubbed ‘Desmond is Amazing’ was one of the first to emerge, setting the pace for other children to be exploited in the name of freedom and the new gay culture. And with a name that is literally a statement of support (just as we see in one already mentioned organization), how can one speak out against him without being accused of being mean to a child?  

Is it also possible that creating a ‘non-binary’ and ‘gender fluid’ population was part of a greater plan that is still unfolding? One that will have untold ramifications on the traditional family, values and identity for generations to come? Does refusing to bake a cake that supports this agenda sound unreasonable? Questions. 

With every generation having to endure bullying and learning to problem solve and deal with difficulties through experience and personal hardships, recent generations act as if bullying was invented especially for them.  I do understand how cruel children are and how painfully heartless they can be these days and I would admit that it is probably much worse than when I was a kid, but I also believe we were made to endure and grow through adversity.   But with a system in place to cater to the demands of children, making them the voices of reason and experience, it was not long before our gay rights movement became a tool that was being used to let indoctrinated and over-vaccinated pre-pubescent children decide what gender they were while the voices of their parents and parental rights were being stripped away. How did this new gay liberation mutate into children being subjected to vile sexualized performances from adult male drag queens who performed as if for a drunk adult audience? And why was it suddenly so necessary to begin training children the art of masturbation and all aspects of adult sex? And is it just a coincidence that more ‘experts’ are attempting to normalize pedophilia by calling it a natural sexual preference—an orientation, that like transsexualism is casually associated with being gay. I didn’t ask for this! And why are parents allowing this sexual traumatization and normalization of child sex and depravity to occur and to even encourage sex reassignment in the youngest of children? 

When there becomes fewer and fewer examples of nature taking its course and more instances that reek only of child endangerment and the perverse sexualizing of children, I tend to think that there is an agenda, one that I disavow and one that has no business being categorized in any way as part of gay culture. And if gay culture is now defined as being all manner of fluidity, narcissism, deranged entitlement and overt immorality, I suspect that any intelligent, cognitively thinking person would find that my disavowing of Gay Pride as not being something akin to self-loathing, but actual pride in my own self identity and authenticity that can’t be obtained within extremist group think.
