In 1996 New York Magazine trumpeted a cover story titled “We’re Here! We’re Queer! Let’s Get Coffee!” The suggestion was that the inability to spot or pigeonhole a gay person meant that we were in a ‘post-gay’ era. In the article, writer Daniel Mendelsohn, critically defined post-gay as the “heterosexualization of gay culture”. He accurately points out that widespread acceptance eliminated a “subversive edge” that had previously set itself far apart from mainstream culture, but more accurately post-gay was not about losing something, it simply meant that we had entered into an era where gays could be viewed just as their heterosexual counterparts who were not bogged down with labeling.
It was no longer a secret that gays enjoyed the same things in life as everyone else and that being gay did not have to be defined by stereotypes provided by the media and entertainment. Post-gay meant that labeling was dead. This was not the heterosexualization of gays, it was regular, everyday people saying that it didn’t matter if the person standing next to them was gay or not. I was living in New York City in 1996 and I can attest to the fact that undue concern over the sexuality of others was something that did not exist. Further, it seemed that Gay Pride was something that the entire city happily celebrated for one day a year and then we all went on with our lives.
But the acceptance of any group that brings about the end of their so-called marginalization was the last thing that those pushing Marxist agendas would ever want and it just does not stand well with advancing globalist agendas. What they needed was another Stonewall and they got it by expanding the gay Collective Identity to include a nightmare of newly invented gender identities that brought with it an army of angry, narcissistic, entitled believers who suddenly demanded rights that all gays previous to them already enjoyed.
In its favor, this New Stonewall had a fawning media and support from medical and progressive academic ‘professionals’ who would either eagerly agree with outrageous claims of alternative genders and interchangeable sex identification or they would quietly comply for fear of falling victim to cancel culture and ruin. I neglected to see the full relevance of this germinating Collective Identity crisis in my essay Why I Disavow Gay Pride. In it I wrote:
I never asked to be lumped in with bisexuals, lesbians, transsexuals and other ‘gender fluid’ individuals. I never asked for there to be stereotypical gays to be represented in every new movie or for young lesbians and gays to have storylines on every new tv show that only exploited their sexuality or their mental health issues. Did they think I needed help defining myself as they chose to present me? Is this not really about me at all, but about how the new generation of gays will be defined and understood? Are the demands made in the name of gays and for those who deny biological gender, being spoken to in a language meant to be memorized, absorbed and repeated by this younger generation?
Initially, I could not see the deeper reasons why this bundling of such a vast array of people was taking place, only that I resented being tossed into a mix that was meant to be understood as all-inclusive and under the same banner of dubious support and togetherness. It wasn’t until I associated the word collective to this bundling that I began to understand it to be another tentacle of Marxism and as we know, there is no door that Marxists wouldn’t attempt to knock down or group of people they wouldn’t target to indoctrinate.
Marxism relies on disillusioned masses and rage-inducing propaganda to get people off their asses, pushing them to ‘reimagine’ a life where they could be given back all that’s been supposedly taken from them. Marxism is essentially a lice-ridden security blanket for people who’ve been told that they’re not safe and most assuredly marginalized. It’s for people who accept trauma-based conditioning and who identify as victims because of this programming. It’s here in the intersections of gender identity fantasy that the Marxist cancer has found the perfect host for exploitation in the victims who’ve opted into the grand orchestration of inequality and unlimited gender possibilities.
It’s now been many years in the making, but young people empowered by the rage of victimhood implanted into them by academia, the media and an ever growing army of progressive ‘experts’ and ‘educators’ have come to accept that millions of people are marginalized and discriminated against because, first, they’ve accepted the gender deception and second, that gender “inequality” and tolerance can only be properly addressed through activism (often violent) and intolerance of contrary opinion. It’s here that the entire movement cancels itself out and would certainly collapse if the charade wasn’t endorsed and propped up.
The believers, the new Stonewallers are those who support the delusional ideology and/or actually see themselves as a gender other than what they were ‘assigned at birth’. And while every newly imagined permutation of gender is being placed under the all-inclusive LGBTQ+ label, we are being made to accept wildly distorted views of reality—even to the point of criminal charges being waged against us if we oppose these ideas.
Gender Identity Collectivism is not about acceptance, tolerance, or least of all rights of any kind, its purpose is to destroy existing gay culture and foment intolerance that can then be pointed to as validation of claims made by newly minted gender identitarians that they are indeed being discriminated against and their rights violated.
What radical gender ideologues have yet to understand is that the tyrannical Marxist ideology that many of them appear to support does not stand with any particular subset of culture, but that Marxist doctrine insists that once an individual is absorbed into and placed within a particular group, each of these groups must eventually give up the passion for their subset of choice and be brought into the larger group. Marxist leaders don’t care about gender or inclusivity, but care only so far as to lure rudderless people onto one of the many paths of indoctrination that will lead to a stripping away of all rights, personal will and freedom. The new narcissistic Stonewallers can’t see this far. They are too preoccupied with trying to be shocking and relevant which they fail at miserably.
As more letters are added to the LGBTQ+ umbrella to include an ever growing number of supposedly unique sub-subcultures; and more colors are being added to the gay pride flag to include the expanding definition of what being gay is supposed to encompass, it becomes more impossible to define and much more likely to be dismissed by thoughtful individuals who once respected the symbolism. The infinitesimally small intersectional fractals of society who now drown out all competing voices don’t know what it’s like to earn respect, they demand it while they themselves often struggle with or find it impossible to give it back in return.
When the gullible and indoctrinated have been provided with new language and ideas in which they can boldly call fantasy a reality and when non-believers are accused of bigotry or transphobia for not going along with these fabrications, we know that this new manufactured Stonewall is much more powerful than the first because not only will it antagonize well-adjusted straight people, but also well-adjusted gays. The woke new Stonewallers can once again make Marxist pronouncements of marginalization while the actual, newly marginalized are all those people with common sense, reason and intelligence. How has this ever been about ‘togetherness’ ‘safety’, ‘equity’ or any of the other terms they use to convince us into accepting a farce?
Excellent.
